Apprenticeship
Achieving qualifications and gaining real work experience
Employers value real working skills when they are selecting new employees and promoting employees. So if you have worked for and achieved qualifications as well as gained experience at work you will be in a good position to further your career.
Depending on your starting point you can work towards an Apprenticeship or an Advanced Apprenticeship with Skillnet. Usually you work through your level 2 NVQ or VCQ, Keyskills and level 2 technical certificate and then progress onto your level 3 NVQ/VCQ and level 3 technical certificate.
For technical qualifications, once you have achieved these awards you are recognised as a qualified Vehicle Technician. You can then build on these awards through further training or education. Skillnet can provide you with advice and guidance on how to start an Apprenticeship and then how to develop your career to become a Senior Technician or a Senior Manager.
Skillnet also deliver a range of non-technical qualifications, so whatever your interest in the motor industry, Skillnet offers training courses which are right for you.
