Apprenticeship places for 16 – 17 year olds across London and Hertfordshire
Skillnet Limited has identified apprentice positions for 16 – 17 year olds with independent garages and dealerships across London and Hertfordshire.
The opportunities have become available thanks to a new initiative by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) which Skillnet is supporting called the Apprenticeship Grant.
The Apprenticeship Grant supports a wider plan by the government to reduce the number of young people who are not in education, employment or training and was launched at the end of January to provide funding for businesses to recruit new apprentices aged between 16 and 17 years old. This opportunity has been snapped up by independent car dealerships and garages in across London and Hertfordshire which are now looking to train their next apprentices.
Skillnet is calling for young people in the area to contact them if they are interested in starting an Apprenticeship in the motor industry. Automotive apprentices can train in a range of disciplines, from customer sales to vehicle technicians.
Lee Acton, Chief Executive of Skillnet, said: “We’re pleased to be supporting the Apprenticeship Grant initiative which has recently been launched by the Learning and Skills Council. The funding will provide much needed support for businesses that are looking to recruit and train an apprentice, as well as an excellent opportunity for young people to get a career for life, and earn while they learn.”
If you are between 16 and 17 years old and are interested in an Apprenticeship in the motor industry, contact a member of Skillnet’s recruitment team on 01923 216165 or apply online at www.skillnet.org.uk.
Skillnet is also committed to working with independent car dealerships and garages – if you would like to take advantage of the LSC’s Apprenticeship Grant which entitles businesses to £2,500 to go towards the training of new apprentices, please contact the recruitment team now on 01923 216165. The Apprenticeship Grant is available on a first come, first served basis and will run until 31 March 2010 or until all the funding has been awarded. Terms and conditions apply.
