Scania Apprenticeship Programme
As a leading manufacturer of heavy trucks, buses, coaches and engines for industrial and marine applications, Scania is a major supplier to British industry. Additionally, the company provides a wide range of complementary and ancillary services in support of its products and customers through its 90-plus-strong network of service centres. In 2007, Scania's share of the UK heavy truck market was 17.8% and its combined bus and coach market share amounted to 14.8%.
Scania dealers offer sales of new and used vehicles and, through a nationwide network of 90 service points, provide a wide range of market services and contract packages to support operators' individual needs.
To become a Scania Trucks apprentice you must have a genuine interest in things mechanical and meet an acceptable academic standard - the preference being a minimum of 3 GCSE's, Grade C or above, but experience with Trucks will also help your application.
Apprentices are usually recruited straight from school aged 16-19 years, although opportunities exist for applicants outside this age range. Where new vacancies exist, suitable applicants will be invited to take a standard entry test to assess their aptitude. This will enable the dealer to choose those candidates best suited to a place on the Scania Apprentice Programme.
So, if you think you have what it takes to become a fully qualified Scania technician, we want to hear from you. For further information on the Scania Apprentice Programme contact Skillnet on 01923 216172 or click here to apply online now.
