Apprenticeships

Why do an Apprenticeship?

Gain Skills and qualifications

Doing an Apprenticeship or an Advanced Apprenticeship gives you "on-the-job" training. You can build up knowledge and skills, gain qualifications and earn money all at the same time. Earn while you learn by becoming an apprentice you can be trained in the skills you need to become a fully qualified Automotive Technician. As you progress through your qualifications you will become a more valuable member of staff and your earning abilities will increase accordingly.

NVQs

You will achieve National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) through assessment and training in the workplace. NVQs are nationally recognised qualifications that are accepted by employers and academic institutes. People who complete an Apprenticeship will gain an NVQ Level 2. Advanced Apprenticeships lead to an NVQ at Level 3.

Key skills

All apprentices are required to demonstrate their abilities in Key Skills such as communication, number skills, and information technology. Key Skills are essential skills that underpin success in education, employment, lifelong learning and personal development. These Key Skills are essential to compete effectively in the labour market, in any field.

Technical certificates

Technical certificates focus on the knowledge and understanding that underpins the NVQ competencies. They may also cover wider aspects of the chosen occupation or sector. They prove that the apprentice understands the theory behind the job as well as being able to carry out the practical tasks.
